Terms

Terms of service.

The deal between you and us, in plain English.

Effective Oct 4, 2026

The short version: you pay $1 per document (or less with a pack), never a subscription. You check each document before paying, and you're responsible for what's on it, including any sales tax. The AI can make mistakes, which is why you always get a preview. Don't use it for anything dishonest.

Who we are

Invoice & Quote (invoiceandquote.com) is run by TradieNotes Limited, a company registered in New Zealand ("we", "us"). By using the service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

What the service does

Invoice & Quote turns a photo of your notes, or words you type or say, into an invoice or quote you can check, edit and download as a PDF, and optionally email to your customer. It's a document tool: it doesn't collect payments from your customers, and it isn't accounting, tax or legal advice.

Your account

  • You can make and pay for single documents without an account. Packs of credits, saved history and some features need a free account.
  • You must be at least 18, and give a real email address.
  • Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • You can delete your account any time in Settings.

Prices and payment

  • Each invoice or quote you pay for costs $1 (USD), or one credit. Credits come in packs: 10 for $5, 50 for $15, 200 for $40.
  • There's no subscription. You're only charged when you choose to pay for a document or buy a pack.
  • Credits don't expire. They can't be exchanged for cash (except for the pack refunds below) or transferred to another account.
  • New accounts get 10 free credits, for up to 2 new accounts per internet connection every 30 days. We may change or end sign-up offers for new accounts at any time.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices may change in future, but never for credits you've already bought.
  • What's free: previews, edits before paying, re-downloading documents you've paid for, turning a quote into an invoice, and corrections within 14 days (below).

Refunds

If you paid and couldn't get your document because of a problem on our side, contact us and we'll fix it, give you a credit, or refund you. Unused packs can be refunded within 30 days of purchase; credits already used aren't refundable. This doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer law where you live.

Free corrections

You can correct a document you've paid for, free, for 14 days after paying. It keeps the same number. Corrections are for fixing mistakes: the customer's name can be corrected but not changed to a different customer, and a paid document can't be switched between invoice and quote. For a different customer or job, make a new document.

Your responsibilities

  • Check before you pay or send. The AI reads your notes, but it can get things wrong. You're responsible for everything on your documents: names, amounts, dates and totals.
  • Tax is yours. We never work out sales tax or any other tax. Whether you charge it, and how much, is up to you and your local rules.
  • Your customers' details. Only enter customer details you have the right to use for invoicing them.
  • Payment reminders. Only send reminders to your own customers, about money they actually owe you. We limit how many reminder emails can be sent.
  • Honest use only. Don't use the service for fake, misleading or fraudulent invoices or quotes, to impersonate anyone, or to break the law. Don't try to disrupt the service, get around its payment or limits, or access other people's accounts.

We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Your content

Your documents and details are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you, as described in our privacy policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running well, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or improve features. If we ever close the service, we'll give account holders reasonable notice so they can download their documents, and refund unused credits.

Our responsibility

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses (like lost profits or unpaid invoices), and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. If you're a consumer, you also keep any protections given to you by the laws where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let account holders know by email before they take effect.
