Choose free invoice apps if

  • You're happy typing each invoice into a form. Then free really is free.
  • You want customers to pay by card from the invoice, and don't mind the processing fee.
  • You want full bookkeeping too (Wave and Zoho do much more than invoices).

Choose Invoice & Quote if

  • Your jobs start as handwritten notes or in your head. Snap or say them instead of typing.
  • You'd rather pay $1 than spend the evening retyping notes.
  • You don't want a card-processing cut on every payment: your customer pays you directly.
